Arrival at Takayama
Takayama Old Town Takayama Jinya
The Takayama Jin'ya is a surviving Edo period jin'ya which served as the government headquarters for Hida Province under the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan from 1692 to 1871. It is located in what is now Hachiken-machi of the city of Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. It has been protected as a National Historic Site since 1929.
Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum
The Japan Folk Crafts Museum is a museum in Komaba, Meguro, Tokyo, Japan, dedicated to the hand-crafted art of ordinary people (mingei).Access is from Komaba-Tōdaimae Station of Keio Inokashira Line.
The museum was established in 1936 by Yanagi Sōetsu, the founder of the mingei movement; Hamada Shōji succeeded him as its director. Yanagi and Hamada officially announced their desire to establish a folk crafts museum in 1926. Construction began on the museum in 1935 and was completed in 1936.
The museum covers 1,818 square meters and was constructed with a traditional Japanese architectural style. A 'long' stone-roofed gate-cum-residence (nagaya-mon) was brought from the Tochigi Prefecture and reconstructed in front of the building.

Moving to Shirakawa-go Kenrokuen
Kenroku-en located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan, is an old private garden. Along with Kairaku-en and Kōraku-en, Kenroku-en is one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. The grounds are open year-round except for December 29 through January 3 during daylight hours and famous for its beauty in all seasons; an admission fee is charged.

Kanazawa Castle Park
Kanazawa Castle is a large, partially-restored Japanese castle in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is located adjacent to the celebrated Kenroku-en Garden, which once formed the castle's private outer garden. It was the headquarters of Kaga Domain, ruled by the Maeda clan for 14 generations from the Sengoku period until the coming of the Meiji Restoration in 1871.

Nagoya Castle
Nagoya Castle was constructed by the Owari Domain in 1612 during the Edo period on the site of an earlier castle of the Oda clan in the Sengoku period. Nagoya Castle was the heart of one of the most important castle towns in Japan, Nagoya-juku, a post station on the Minoji road linking two of the important Edo Five Routes, the Tōkaidō and the Nakasendō. Nagoya Castle became the core of the modern Nagoya and ownership was transferred to the city by the Imperial Household Ministry in 1930. Nagoya Castle was destroyed in 1945 during the bombing of Nagoya in World War II and the reconstruction and repair of the castle has been undergoing since 1957.
Meijō, another shortform way of pronouncing Nagoya Castle, is used for many Nagoya city institutions such as Meijō Park, the Meijō Line of the Nagoya Municipal Subway, and Meijo University, reflecting the cultural influence of this historic structure. The castle has also historically been called which means "Golden Castle".
